Defending the right to peaceful protest
Explore the history of protest, the practical implications of the policing bill, and how you can help to defeat it.
The government has introduced a new policing bill that threatens to severely restrict peaceful protest and effectively criminalise the way of life of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. In this workshop, we’ll explore the history of protest, the practical implications of this draconian legislation, and how you can help to defeat it.
We’ll be joined by Friends of the Earth campaigner Danny Gross; Friends of the Earth lawyer Katie de Kauwe; and Shahida Begum, a protest law barrister at Garden Court Chambers who will join us for a Q&A session.
This session is for Local Groups and Climate Action Groups.
