Economic Pluralism: Essential to address the Climate Emergency? (hosted by Post-Crash Economics Society Manchester and IBFE Society)
The Post Crash Economics Society and the IBFE society are proud to host Henry Leveson-Gower who will be discussing whether economic pluralism is essential to address the climate emergency.
Over the coming decades, humanity will face increasing climate breakdown, disrupting our economic system and lives. At the same time, escalating protests will drive political attempts and social pressure to reduce our carbon footprint. How can we ensure that we build inclusive, sustainable and resilient economies? Henry Leveson-Gower will argue that economic pluralism, thinking outside the narrow neo-classical economic box, is essential if we are to achieve the system change we need.
Henry Leveson-Gower is founder and CEO of Promoting Economic Pluralism and editor of its magazine, The Mint. He has been a practicing pluralist economist and policy analyst for over 25 years working on environmental policy. His current focus is on institutional design for collective action to catalyse system change and build resilience based on his research at the Centre for Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus in 2017. He is a Fellow of the RSA and a qualified chartered accountant.
