At the conclusion of our Get Winter Ready road show, the On Your Bike Team is hosting a celebration ride which builds on the success of our 3 C’s ride (Coal, Cotton, Canal) last October when 25 cyclists rode with us to discover the industrial heritage of the North West around Wigan.

At the beginning of this ride, we will again be handing out a free set of bike lights!

This year we will be riding from Leigh Spinners Mill in Leigh, enjoying the new development of canal towpath alongside the Bridgewater Canal around Astley which has now been upgraded and is a joy to cycle along – No more mud!

The route is mostly off road, using the canal towpath to Monton through Worsley Woods and the guided busway through Row Green, Tyldesley and Leigh where we re-join the canal back to Leigh Spinners Mill ready to socialise and discuss our new project ideas at the mill in the surroundings of its fine Cucina café!

This ride is part of The Get Winter Ready road show where The On Your Bike project will be hosting a series of road shows across the Wigan Borough with the aim of encouraging people to keep cycling through winter, come and visit us at the locations in the attached flyer!
