Housing for the Future: How can the Northwest become more climate ready?
Did you know that the Northwest region has some of the highest levels of fuel poverty in England?
We need to create more energy efficient homes, secure the required infrastructure to tackle fuel poverty and climate change, and make sure the most vulnerable in our society aren’t left behind.
Taking place during the Great Big Green Week, join us for this online event. You’ll get an introduction to the housing issues facing our region and hear from leading industry professionals and policy experts on how we can mobilise for positive change and a greener future in the Northwest of England!
The event will cover:
- The state of housing efficiency in the Northwest
- How can we get where we want to go?
- Current projects and collaboration happening across the region
- How can we support the ambition and commitment of local MPs to tackle the retrofit challenge
- Keynote address from Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region
- Kit Knowles, Director of Ecospheric
- Jonathan Webb, IPPR North

2020 and 2021 have been difficult years for all of us and we are still in the middle of a public health crisis. As we look towards a green recovery from COVID-19, retrofitting homes and ensuring people have safe, clean and green places to live is essential.
Hope for the Future have worked with MPs across the Northwest of England, and we now have a regional office on the edge of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter. With support from our partners, we’re building a network of MPs across the region to ensure the Government’s retrofit targets are met.
Do you want to support your local MP to champion these issues? Get in touch with our Northwest Regional Coordinator today: email@example.com.
