How to get your council to adopt a climate action plan
Three part course on 16, 23, and 30 November for groups campaigning for climate action plans from their council.
This is a three-part course over three weeks. You can use the same Zoom link for each session. Here’s what we’ll be covering:
Part 1: Understanding how your councils works (Monday 16 November 18.00 – 19.15)
We’ll cover the basics of how decisions are made, who you should make contact with in your local council and how you can find out what your council has done so far to take climate action.
Part 2: Building your campaign plan (Monday 23 November 18.00 – 19.15)
We’ll look at the key questions that sit at the heart of all successful campaign plans as well as look at a successful case study from the Climate Action Campaign. In this session your campaign strategy will begin to take shape.
Part 3: Planning your tactics (Monday 30 November 18.00 – 19.15)
We’ll spend some time sharing ideas for tactics to influence your local council. We’ll then work on finalising our campaign strategies and sharing some top tips for moving forward with your campaign.
