I’m a Health Worker – Let’s Talk About the Climate Breakdown! (by The Carbon Literacy Project)

– 6-8pm – but feel free to drop in/out whenever suits.
– The bar will be open and there’s a good selection of food to be had too.
– No need to register.

This is an open invitation to an informal gathering for anyone in Greater Manchester working in the health & social care sectors who want to explore how to best take action against the climate breakdown in the company of your peers.

The health threats of climate chaos are being increasingly discussed, especially following the extreme weather events last summer, current weather catastrophes across the world, and of course the young climate strikers and Extinction Rebellion. Issues such as these are so pertinent to the health & social sectors in Greater Manchester… but what are the solutions? And what steps do we need to take to deliver them?

We hope that by bringing health and social care professionals together, and by sharing ideas, solutions and networks, we can inspire action and collaboration in the sector. It’s very informal but there’ll be a bit of facilitated discussion. Even if you have no prior knowledge of climate change or action, but are simply interested, we do encourage you to come along. There’s no obligation to sign up to anything afterwards, although there will be people from both Extinction Rebellion and The Carbon Literacy Project helping out.

[Origins of the event – the Carbon Literacy Project is devising training on the subject for the health sector and was kicking around ideas about how to get that rolling with some health professionals. It was felt that a very informal ‘unbranded’ gathering was a good thing in its own right so here we are.]

If you would like to register please do so via Eventbrite
