MFOE Annual General Meeting / Devolution & Climate Change

We’d love you to join us for Manchester Friends of the Earth’s Annual General Meeting, which will be followed by an event exploring what the devolution deal means for action on climate change in Greater Manchester.
Manchester FoE AGM = Devolution and Climate Change event 23rd January 2016

Following on from the historic, but still inadequate, global climate agreement in Paris last month, this event will explore what the agreement means for local action on climate change, and discuss what role devolution has to play in delivering carbon emission reductions in Greater Manchester.

Join us to hear from expert speakers, meet up with local residents and campaigners, and have your say on what Devo Manc needs to include (or exclude) to deliver a cleaner, greener future for Greater Manchester.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Simon Bullock, Friends of the Earth
  • Neil McInroy, Centre for Local Economic Strategies
  • Cllr Sue Derbyshire, Leader of Stockport Council and Chair of the Greater Manchester Low Carbon Hub

The event is free and open to all, although we do ask that you book in advance using the Eventbrite link.

When: 11am – 4pm, Saturday 23rd January
Where: Methodist Central Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester M1 1JQ
More info & booking: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/19849618744

Note: This event will be preceded at 10am by Manchester Friends of the Earth’s AGM at which we’ll be presenting our annual review and accounts, electing group officers for the year, and debating any resolutions that have been submitted by group members.  The AGM is open to all, but only group members can vote.  Refreshments provided.
