Manchester Friends of the Earth Birdwatch walk, Sale Water Park
It’s that time of year again, when people all over the country set aside an hour to count the birds they see in their garden, park or local open space as part of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. This annual count of the UK’s resident birds is the world’s largest mass participation wildlife survey and takes place from Saturday 25 January to Monday 27 January.
You are invited to join with Manchester Friends of the Earth’s Nature volunteers, who will be joining in the Birdwatch in Sale Water park.
We’ll be meeting by the Bike Hire place opposite Jackson’s Boat pub – this is accessible by bike via several paths over the Mersey valley, for example, from Chorlton Green and Hardy Lane. There is also a Metrolink station nearby. We will then head off through nearby woods and fields. The Birdwatch should last about an hour, and we’ll probably pop in the pub for a quick drink afterwards. You can of course take part in the Birdwatch in your own garden or park as well as joining us!
More information on the Birdwatch website.
We look forward to meeting up on Sunday!
