Mayor’s Question Time #AskAndyGM
Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham will hold a question time event in the week before every Combined Authority meeting, in the area in which the meeting will be held.
The question time event is on Thursday, October 24 and will be held at Salford Sports Village.
Partnered with key regional media, the event aims to highlight and answer questions on local issues, posted by members of the public.
This is your opportunity to have a voice on the concerns that matter to you.
– You can attend the session and pre-ask your question when you apply for tickets.
– You can join in remotely by either emailing your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org or through twitter on #AskAndyGM
– You can attend the session and ask your question in person
Book your (free) place via Eventbrite
Over the next twelve months, Andy will call a question time with each local authority in Greater Manchester.
The next event will be held at Salford Sports Village, Salford and opens at 7pm. You will need to be seated by 7:20pm as we will be starting promptly at 7:30pm. The session will be live streamed onto the Mayor’s Facebook page @MayorofGM
We may run out of time to ask all questions that have been raised. If this is the case, we will try and combine similar or related questions together.
You must submit your question for the event by Friday, October 18. These will be sent to the host of the event who will shortlist them in advance to make sure we have a range of subjects covered. The Mayor does not see any questions in advance of the event.
Ticket sales will end on Wednesday 23 October at 23:30.
I came last month – can I come again?
We’re asking that people don’t attend more than two question time events in a six month period. This is just so that different people have an opportunity to come along and ask questions. Obviously, if you’re not able to attend then you’re still more than welcome to watch it online through the live stream and participate via #AskAndyGM on social media.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No. But the event will be live streamed, so people who attend ideally need to be comfortable to sit for around an hour and half.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Salford Sports Village has a large carpark available. This also contians disabled parking bays and bike racks.
The most regular bus route to Littleton Road is the 93 bus.
You can find out more about transport option on https://www.salfordcommunityleisure.co.uk/sport/locations/salford-sports-village
What should I do if I have access requirments?
When registering for the event you are given the chance to tell us any access requirments which may effect your experience at the question time. Will will use the information provided and try and accomodate around your needs.
The event will take place on the second floor of the venue. There is a lift provided.
What can I bring into the event?
Yourself and your questions. You’re also welcome to bring your phone in with you, so that you can join in with the questions online at the same time using the hashtag #AskAndyGM. But we do ask you to put it on silent, so not to disturb the live stream.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
If you have any questions about the event itself, feel free to direct them towards – email@example.com – equally, if you think of any questions that you want answering as part of the event, these can also be sent through to the same address.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You don’t need to have it printed, but an electronic copy of the ticket (via your smart phone / tablet) would be great, so that we can tick you off our attendee list and also identify if you are someone who has raised a question in advance.
