MCR: It’s time for a Fashion Revolution! (Stitched Up)

Join us for an informative and inspiring afternoon, and get involved in creating a Manchester Fashion Revolution!

Fashion Revolution Day, 24th April 2018 marks five whole years since the tragic Rana Plaza garment factory collapse. In this incident over 1,135 people lost their lives while they were sewing clothes for the British high street. Thousands more people were injured or had their lives severely impacted by the disaster. Many are still suffering these impacts now.

The Fashion Revolution campaign draws together consumers and brands to ensure an incident like this can never happen again, asking the question #WhoMadeMyClothes.
In the past five years there has been significant progress in holding brands to account for worker safety in Bangladesh. But there is more still to be done. We want to keep up the pressure, using our voices to demand that brands ensure safe working conditions throughout their supply chains.

In the run up to the fifth anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster, we want to remember the lives of those lost and stoke a Fashion Revolution – right here in Manchester!

On Saturday 21st April we’re hosting an informative and inspiring afternoon of activities.

– Learn more about the issues which led to the Rana Plaza disaster
– Meet the people in Manchester working towards a more just and sustainable fashion industry.
– Find out how YOU help to make a difference and get involved in Fashion Revolution Week 2018.
