Metro Mayor elections and our climate demands – Planning meeting and networking event
Join us to discuss how we can ensure candidates for the Greater Manchester Metro Mayor elections on 7 May commit to ambitious action on climate change.
Hosted by Manchester Friends of the Earth and Estelle Worthington from FoE, this planning meeting will be an opportunity for local climate action groups to collaborate on campaign plans to put climate action at the heart of Metro Mayor elections.
With your help we’ve already developed a Climate Action Plan for Metro Mayors with 10 campaign demands. Now we’d like to explore how we can work together to hold a climate hustings, get candidates to publicly pledge to take action on the climate crisis and generate public debate through social and local media.
This will be followed by breakout sessions to discuss any campaigns or issues you are working on (trees, climate action plans for councils, etc) and share updates from your group.
We look forward to seeing you! Cakes and hot drinks will be available.
This event is free but please complete the Action Network booking form so we have an idea of numbers.
