Mobilising for COP26 from Manchester
This November sees the rescheduled COP26 climate conference take place in Glasgow. The mainstream UN COP process has failed to deliver on promises to reduce emissions. We need to make sure that demands for far-reaching, radical demands are heard at the conference.
In January 2020, before Covid19 the Campaign Against Climate Change hosted a summit in Manchester. One of the outcomes was to set up a “mobilising group” of many different individuals and groups to plan how Manchester could protest and organise around COP26.
The COP26 co-ordinating group of climate & environment activists, anti-racist & refugee organisations, trade unions, NGOs and others is planning a series of events around COP26 to challenge the mainstream politics and demand radical action. We will hear from Scotland about the latest plans.
This Manchester meeting will discuss the latest information on plans for Glasgow and what we can do here to protest. Bring your ideas and plans to COP26.
Logon information for the meeting will be posted nearer to the time.
