Natural World Webinars: International Women’s Day: The Voice of the Wild

This International Women’s Day, TV and Radio presenter Lindsey Chapman is joined by environmental activist and Youth MP Emma Greenwood and Black Girls Hike Founder Rhiane Fatinikun to bring you The Voice of the Wild.

Hosted by City of Trees as part of their newly launched Natural World Webinars this free event will be held on zoom.

Passionate about people, place and potential, these three young women all connect with the environment in different ways but realise that in order to overcome the huge challenges that lie ahead, we must work together. Keen to share their experiences as well as amplify the role of the female voice, they invite you to join the conversation.

Lindsey Chapman works on a range of highly successful TV series – from BBC Springwatch to Wild Animals Rescue for Channel 5. She’s performed live on BBC Radio 4 with actor Jeremy Irons and played host to large Climate Change summits. In this entertaining event for City of Trees, she takes us behind the scenes from initial idea to live broadcast and explains ‘Why Nature?’ and ‘Why Now?’.

Developing the conversation, Lindsey is delighted to be joined by Rhiane Fatinikun and Emma Greenwood offering them the floor to expand on their experiences and passion for the natural world.

Since February 2019 Emma has been working to amplify the voice of young people, especially on issues around tackling the climate crisis. She helps coordinate the Manchester Youth Strike 4 Climate and is engaged on an international level with the Fridays for Future Digital group.

Rhiane Fatinikun is the founder of Black Girls Hike, a group providing a safe space for black women to explore the countryside, and is an advocate for getting outdoors to improve physical and mental health.

This International Women’s Day the panel celebrate the female voice in environmental issues, touching on themes of connection, contention and diversity. Asking the big questions, they want you to join the conversation in a Live Q&A that will form the second half of the evening.

Open, honest and inspirational, come and join The Voice of the Wild.

This event is free to attend but if you would like to make a donation to the City of Trees movement you can do this online.
