Of Fish and Foe – film screening @ HOME

The Pullars are one of the last families using traditional methods to fish for wild Atlantic salmon off the coast of Scotland. When these methods involve killing seals, the salmon’s natural predators, conflict erupts. Animal activist groups oppose the Pullars at every turn, despite the legality of the fishermen’s actions and the consequences to their livelihood. Challenging preconceptions, this ambiguous doc puts modern environmentalism under the microscope.

Description from HOME’s Green Screen: This week the HOME Film team have programmed another great environmental documentary. Of Fish and Foe makes space for difficult conversations about wildlife conversation and local business, and how best to navigate both environmental and financial sustainability within our precious ecosystem. It gets heated. Think Tarantino off the coast of Scotland.
