LIKELY TO BE CANCELLED: Shelter Greater Manchester Mayoral Assembly
On April 23, Shelter will mass mobilise hundreds of our supporters in Greater Manchester to participate directly in the 2020 mayoral election.
Together we will put policy demands to candidates and call for changes to our broken housing system.
Join us and:
Andy Burnham – Labour
Andy Kelly – Liberal Democrat
Melanie Horrocks – Green Party
and the candidate for the Conservative Party (tba)
We aim to pressure the mayoral candidates to prioritise a range of housing issues identified by Shelter supporters and allies during our Greater Manchester listening campaign – Home Truths.
Use your power.
By joining us at our assembly you can hold politics to account. You will be part of a people of power presenting a raft of grassroots demands to mayoral candidates.
As we invite our political leaders to sign up to our agenda, we grow our collective power to make change happen.
This is your campaign.
Every campaign demand we put to candidates will be a direct result of our listening campaign.
The agenda was written by you.
Now we are asking you to come and put your demands into action.
- We will hear personal testimony from people whose right to a safe home is being denied.
- We will present our 2020 Housing Hero Awards to nominees who do great things for their communities
- We will put demands to mayoral candidates as a collective of hundreds of people.
- And we will hear answers.
Join us at our assembly. Demand better housing from the next mayor. Register now via Eventbrite!
