Top tips to influence your MP and engage local media
How can you get your voice heard by those in power locally? How can you make sure other people in your area know about your campaigning? How can we make change in our local area, nationally and internationally in these uncertain times?
This training session will equip you with all the top tips on how to arrange to meet your MP, what to do in the meeting and afterwards and how to get local press coverage of your campaigning.
Whether you know your MP by name or have no idea who they are this session is for you. MPs are sensitive to the opinions of their constituents – even if they disagree with them. They will always give high priority to requests from constituents and are concerned about getting local publicity.
This event will be hosted by Amnesty International UK for the ‘Stop the Rights Raid’ Week of Action in partnership with Equally Ours, Stonewall, Liberty, The End Violence Against Women Coalition, The British Institute of Human Rights, The Quakers, The Humanists and Freedom from Torture.
