Webinar: Henry Dimbleby discusses food strategy prospects under a new government (Centre for Food Policy)

Join the Centre for Food Policy on Wednesday 17 July when National Food Strategy author Henry Dimbleby will be delivering a UK election focused ‘Food Thinkers’ webinar.

The incoming UK Government’s first 100 days – food policy implications

Fresh on the back of the UK Government’s 2024 election, our July Food Thinkers webinar invites Henry Dimbleby to reflect on the critical food policy actions the incoming UK government should take in their first 100-days of office. The election campaign manifestos have shown only a sprinkling of commitments on food policies related to health, local procurement and farming but lack serious commitments to achieve the much-needed food systems transformation that will dismantle the junk food cycle, address inequalities and achieve nature-friendly food production. Bringing insights from developing and struggling to implement the National Food Strategy, Henry will outline the policies the new government can implement immediately and those that should be prioritised over the course of the next five years.

Henry is the co-founder of the food chain Leon, a food campaigner, a speaker and a non-executive director.

Before founding Leon, Henry worked at Bain & Company, working on private equity transactions and helping large companies to develop their strategies. Previously he was a journalist at the Daily Telegraph and a commis chef at the Michelin-starred Inn on the Park restaurant in London.

Henry is a regular speaker on how to create a purpose-led business and how to create a better food system. He is the co-founder and chair of Chefs in Schools and sits on the board of Rockfish. He also advises the CEOs of a handful of high-growth leisure businesses.

The talk will be followed by an online Q&A session with the audience.
