What next for Clean Air Zones?

Lockdown offered the public a glimpse of what it would be like to experience lower traffic levels and the resultant improved air quality.

But, with cruel irony, the economic damage caused by Covid-19 means that Clean Air Zones planned in cities across England have now been postponed. Meanwhile, traffic levels are going back up, possibly surpassing pre-pandemic levels due to lower public transport use.

This timely webinar will offer local authorities invaluable advice on steps they can take now to combat vehicle-based pollution. The Government’s Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU) will offer advice on how to make CAZs fit for purpose while ensuring they meet regulatory requirements.

There will be news from Denmark, where low emission zones were launched in five cities during lockdown.

And Phlorum environmental consultants will offer an an easy to understand analysis of the real impact of lockdown on air quality.

Chair: Nick Ruxton-Boyle, Director of Environment, Marston Holdings

Nigel Jenkins, Principal Air Quality Consultant, Phlorum environmental consultants

Ole Lykke Christensen, Chief Operating Officer, Sund&Baelt

Sam Harrison, Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, Joint Air Quality Unit
