Wildflower meadow sowing (Seymour Park)
Having a wildflower meadow is a great way of supporting park’s ecosystem. It will help insects and butterflies to multiply. Birds, hedgehogs and bats should like it too as their feeding place and hideout. Hopefully it would be an eye-pleasing, colourful addition to the earlier planted spring flowers.
Our tasks involve: shallow digging (just enough to scrape top layer of grass), sieving soil clumps, raking & sowing.
We have tools, so just wrap up yourself warm (hats & gloves recommended!).
Location: Far corner on the left as you walk through the St Hilda’s Street entrance
