Zoom Webinar: Manchester: Trade, Climate and the Global South

Following the Extinction Rebellion we consider the local & global consequences of negotiations being done in the dark, and what we can do.

Manchester was built on trade.

The government is secretly negotiating trade deals which will shape our future.

What are the implications for tackling the Climate Emergency?

What are the implications for democracy? With raised awareness of #BlackLivesMatter we consider how these deals with the US and others could impact people both here and in the Global South.

Speakers: Dorothy Grace Guerrero: Head of Policy and Advocacy at Global Justice Now. See more.

Dr. Andy Higginbottom (Kingston University London): an international solidarity campaigner as well as an academic. He is active in support of social movements in Colombia, South Africa and Eelam Tamils. He teaches modules on international political economy, slavery and emancipation, and crimes of the powerful. See more.
