FareShare Greater Manchester – Free food to play and youth providers

FareShare Greater Manchester fights hunger and tackles food waste by redistributing surplus food to over 100 charities in the region. They source food from the food and drinks industry, from donations and food drives, and also by capturing surplus edible fruit and vegetables at New Smithfield Market where they’re based.

On average they redistribute six tonnes of food every week.

FareShare Greater Manchester are keen to work with Manchester based play and youth providers over the summer holidays to help support children, young people and families at risk of food poverty.

Their volunteers can provide a weekly or fortnightly delivery of snacks, drinks, fruit and vegetables that your group could then utilise or distribute to families.

If you are likely to be dealing with the impact of food poverty this summer, and you would like to find out more contact Miranda Kaunang, on 0161 223 8200, or email: Miranda@emergemanchester.co.uk or contact Sebastien Serayet, on 0161 223 8200, or email: Seb@emergemanchester.co.uk by Monday 23 June 2014.
