Respond to the GM Spatial Framework Consultation – it will affect where you work, rest and play!

take action

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority is consulting on a new spatial framework – a plan for the region’s development over the next 20 years.  This plan will define how much new development will take place in Greater Manchester, and in which areas those new houses, offices, industrial sites and transport links will be built. (DEADLINE extended to 16th January 2017).

A brief summary and link to the Manchester Friends of the Earth response to the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework is available.

It must also have a key role in protecting nature and green spaces, managing flood risk, tackling air pollution and supporting the transition to a sustainable and low-carbon future.

It is vitally important that the Greater Manchester plan mirrors the way we, as citizens, want to see our communities grow and this is our chance to have our say!

You can download the GM Spatial Framework consultation and supporting documents via the GMCA website.

Manchester Friends of the Earth are encouraging as many people as possible to respond to the consultation.  We have set up an online email response which raises some of our key environmental and social concerns (or use the form below).

Please send in your response – you can edit the email and include issues that are important to you and your local area in Greater Manchester. The deadline for responding to the consultation is the 16th January 2017, following a decision to extend the deadline.
