Hundreds of Trafford residents say no to fracking

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been out and about in Trafford chatting to local residents about the dangers of fracking.

Petitioning in Old Trafford

Petitioning in Old Trafford

After facing fierce opposition to their test drilling site in Barton Moss last winter, fracking company IGas has now submitted a planning application to drill for gas in Davyhulme, just across the M60 from the Trafford Centre.

This application is due to go before the planning committee next month, so we’ve been busy asking local residents to sign a petition calling on Trafford Council to declare Trafford a “Frack Free Borough”.

After trips to Timperley, Sale, Stretford, Flixton and Old Trafford in recent weeks, we already have over a thousand signatures on our petition.

Can you help us reach 2,000?

If you live in Trafford, why not download a copy of our petition and ask your friends and neighbours to sign it.

Otherwise, we’ll be out petitioning again in Altrincham next Saturday (27th September) – if you’d like join us, contact Ali on 07786 090520.

Together, we can keep Trafford (and the rest of Greater Manchester) frack free!
