Olinda Community Garden volunteering morning
Olinda Community Gardens grows organic food for the local community, creates areas of biodiversity and engages in community wellness through mindfulness and creativity.
We have 15 veg beds, a small polytunnel and using permaculture principles, run a small CSA veg box for local residents. Plans are in place to create a wellness / peace garden, food forest and outdoor kitchen.
Every Tuesday the garden is open to volunteers who come along and do various tasks including weeding, sowing seeds, planting out, preparing beds, moving compost and wood chip. We start at 10am and generally finish around 12.30pm, many people bring lunch which we share together after our work. Sometimes we include a short meditation. Always we learn from one another and have fun!
Olinda Community Gardens is based at Broadheath Triangle Community Garden, Craven Road, Altrincham, WA14 5JE.
We love meeting new people! If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with Alice via email alice.belton@icloud.com or send a message through Instagram
